Over the past four years, the Beau Biden Foundation has grown, not only in programming and partners but also in staff. Thanks to you, what started as a team of two—Patricia Dailey Lewis, Esq. and Josh Alcorn—is now a team of six.
In July, the Beau Biden Foundation welcomed Dr. Tricia Gioffre Scott, Ed.D., and Bridget Cain.
Dr. Scott comes to the Foundation from the Saint Edmond’s Academy, an independent, Catholic all-boys school in North Wilmington, DE, where she served as Principal for the past 11 years. She joins the Foundation as our Director of Strategic Partnerships & Grants.
As Director, she works directly with schools and youth-serving organizations to complete the Shield of Protection—an innovative collaboration between the Foundation and youth-serving organizations and schools to implement best practices in child protection policies, procedures, and trainings.
During her eleven years as Principal, Saint Edmond’s Academy implemented a one-to-one iPad initiative, reading intervention programs for students in grades K through 4 and an educational support program for students in grades 4-8. In addition, Saint Edmond’s Academy was one of the first partners with the Beau Biden Foundation to implement the Stewards of Children Training for faculty, staff, coaches, and volunteers and complete the Shield of Protection assessment.
With over twenty-five years of experience in school administration and leadership, staff development and evaluation, curriculum and instructional design, and data assessment and management, Dr. Scott has dedicated her life to working with students and leading teachers to improve learning. She has an extensive background in innovative technology integration and instruction. She is a published contributor for an educational magazine, including widespread experience of leading local and national workshops and conferences. Dr. Scott continues to collaborate with school principals on strategies for a successful first year.
Dr. Scott currently serves on the Board of Directors for Salesianum School and the Delaware Charter Schools Network Board of Directors.
Bridget Cain now serves as the Foundation’s Volunteer Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. She is a recent graduate of Southern Vermont College and holds a BA in Communications. Bridget has worked with the United Way of Vermont in Community Outreach and helped United Way team up with Hunger Free Vermont and Vermont Department of Health to organize and execute the 2017 PB & Jam Slam.
Welcome to the team!
