Vice President Biden Announces the Foundation’s Partnership with Doylestown Health

In order to end child abuse, we must address the problem head-on and take steps to educate society on how to prevent abuse. Prevention can be accomplished with knowledge and awareness.

That’s why Vice President Joe Biden traveled to Pennsylvania to announce the Beau Biden Foundation newest partnership with Doylestown Health.

As Vice President Biden reminded us while visiting Doylestown Health, “Child sexual abuse is a leading health risk to children. One in 10 children will be molested by the time they are 18.”

The Vice President also took time to recount how hard his son Beau worked to bring attention to child abuse. Beau was adamant that we had to shine a light on the problem, not ignore it.

The Foundation’s new partnership will help combat child abuse by training Doylestown Health’s staff in Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children® child abuse prevention program.

Doylestown staff will join approximately 27,000 Delawareans who’ve been trained to recognize and report signs of abuse. This partnership helps bring us a step closer to implementing child abuse prevention initiatives around the country and achieving Beau’s goal of ending child abusers and providing health futures for children.
