Protecting children. Empowering communities.
A message from the team
As we enter the season of gratitude, we are reminded of the strength that comes from community.
This month, we are sharing tools to help families navigate boundaries during holiday gatherings, spotlighting a Shield of Protection partner supporting students and families in Wilmington, and opening registration for the 2026 Child Protection Classic. Each of these stories reflects how small acts of care, such as checking in with a child, donating a bag of groceries, or swinging for a cause, add up to lasting impact.
We are especially thankful for you. Your support makes this work possible. Thank you for standing with us to protect children, uplift families, and build safer communities across Delaware and beyond.
From all of us at the Beau Biden Foundation, we wish you a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving.
Helping children set boundaries during family gatherings
The holidays bring excitement, tradition, and time with loved ones. But they can also bring uncomfortable moments for children, especially when it comes to physical affection.
Our latest blog post explores how families can support children in setting personal boundaries with relatives. From what to say before the gathering to how to reinforce boundaries in the moment, you will find practical tips to help children feel safe and heard.
Shield of Protection partner spotlight: Nativity Prep
As part of our Shield of Protection network, Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington is committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where every student can thrive.
This fall, the Foundation provided training to staff and faculty at Nativity Prep to strengthen child protection policies and practices. In addition to that training, the school community is now facing a critical need. With the expiration of federal SNAP benefits, many Nativity families are struggling to meet basic food needs.
The school’s food pantry has become a vital resource for families facing uncertainty. Nativity is seeking donations to help keep their pantry stocked.
Donation Drop-Off:
Wednesdays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Child Protection Classic: Registration now open!
Join us for the 2026 Child Protection Classic on Monday, August 10, 2026, at DuPont Country Club.
This annual event brings together supporters, advocates, and friends for a meaningful day of golf and giving. Proceeds support training that helps adults recognize, report, and prevent child abuse.
Whether you attend, sponsor, or share the event with others, your participation strengthens our Shield of Protection around children.
Your role matters
The work of protecting children is not limited to a single person, profession, or organization. It is shared across families, schools, community centers, and every place where children live and learn. At the Beau Biden Foundation, we are building that shared responsibility into action.
When you take the time to read a blog, attend an event, or introduce a friend to our mission, you are helping grow a culture of prevention. You are showing that child protection is not someone else’s job. It is a value we all hold, and a responsibility we all share.
